About Me & My Approach

Welcome to my practice!

My name is Jackie Morrison. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in therapy services for adults both individually and within couples/relationships. My areas of focus include ADHD, anxiety, self-compassion, trauma, and relationship dynamics for LGBTQ+ folks as well as cisgender, straight folks. I use Brainspotting, a trauma therapy technique, to help clients process and heal from past experiences. I believe that everyone deserves to live a life that feels fulfilling and authentic.

Through therapy, I work collaboratively with clients to gain insight, develop self-compassion, and create positive change in their lives. It takes courage to seek support, and I am here to provide a safe and compassionate space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I embrace humor, compassion, and empathy to connect with my clients and to begin to build a safe space for clients to show up as their true selves. I use a combination of experiential and narrative techniques in my therapeutic process, which allows us to collaboratively uncover underlying factors that are driving your thoughts, emotions, and behavior in both helpful and unhelpful ways.

As an ADHDer, I found my way to being a therapist through a few paths. I have a Master of Arts degree in marriage and family therapy from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, a Master of Science degree in teaching (elementary) from Drake University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Drake University. I use what I've learned through education, being a parent, my own experiences with having a neurodivergent brain, and life in general to work with my clients to gain a better understanding of all the systems at play in their lives, their successes, and their challenges.

In my practice, I provide support for adult clients around a wide range of issues, including:

  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Autism
  • Depression
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Relationship Difficulties
  • Life Transitions
  • Self-Esteem
  • Self-Compassion
  • LGBTQ+ Counseling
  • And more

Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss how I can support you in your journey towards healing and growth.
